Looking beyond Industry 4.0, policymakers need to recognise the power of industry to achieve societal goals beyond jobs and growth. Industry must become a resilient provider of prosperity and make production respect the boundaries of our planet. The concept of a human-centred, sustainable and resilient industry, or "Industry 5.0”, provides a strategic orientation to make companies use Industry 4.0 technologies fully while maximizing industry’s contribution to a sustainable and prosperous society.

This panel discussion will look beyond Industry 4.0 from three perspectives. Steven Dhondt (TNO) will provide evidence from the EU project “Beyond4.0” that inclusive policies improve company performance.
